I haven't been keeping previous releases, since I still consider these alpha/beta and still being tested. I can't imagine what would have happened to cause disks to stop being recognized, but then again we're talking about USB here, so there's not much that would really surprise me. Perhaps somebody else has an older version.

In the mean time, please post the following outputs again for the disks that don't work any more.

USBDEVIC
USBUHCIL /Descr
USBDRIVE /S
USBDRIVE /D
USBDRIVE /I
USBDRIVE /C
USBDRIVE /B
USBDRIVE /F
USBDRIVE /Q:#, where # is the INT 13h disk number for the USB drive

If I need to, I should be able to backtrack and re-create something close to an older version if I really need to.

Was the Lexar working before, and the Rebel working faster?

I have a "generic" flash drive made by ChipsBank like your Rebel drive, and the light constantly flashes on it also. It always seems to work OK, though.

Hi,

the "rebel" work slow , but i can access all directory..
The Lexar don't work with this release (with the previusly work).
I can't access to lexar because i receive the dos error message.
With iomega usb drivers and usbaspi (panasonic) i can access both rebel and lexar with no problems.
I've thinked : do you have change some code regarding fat32 ?

I stand for your suggestions.

last release 13 september (AGAIN)

Postby iw2evk » Thu Sep 24, 2009 11:21 pm

Hi ,
yersterday i've make some others test on Lexar usb stick.

Note : the lexar usb stick it's a usb reader for sd card shaped like a usb key with a slot for sd card on rear side.

I've loaded usbaspi +di1000dd , then i've tested the drive with :

Chkdsk fat32 from Datalight dos -> all ok
dosfsck last version from freedo -> all ok
Norton disk doctor fat32 1998 ->all ok

So, i think no problems ewxist on structure and fat on sd card.

Unfortunly, if i use releases 13 and 23 settember , i've a dos area error message (see my previusly posts).
Some time, if a continue to retry at error message , i can view directory tree of disk, but if i access to subdirectory
freedos it's stucked!!

I'm glad you told me that, because I definitely need to change things. I didn't know they made multimedia card readers like that with only one slot. I'll try and work on it some more this weekend.

I'm working on some other "upgrades" to USBDRIVE right now, not specifically related to your problem. I hope to have everything done some time next week, including something that will hopefully fix your particular problem.

If you wouldn't mind, would you send me the source files. I probably should have been keeping them, but I didn't.

I've just sent you an older version of USBDRIVE (version 0.15) in a private e-mail. It's the newest "old" version I have, so I hope it works for you.
