USBPRINT and VMware

Postby BillPedersen » Mon Nov 16, 2009 7:07 am

Am having problems with USBPRINT in a DOS 6.22 machine running under VMware Workstation 7.

Hangs on attempt to send data to printer after loading.

Also does not seem to redirect to the USB port.

I run:

usbprint replaceparallel:yes

And it says it will connect LPT1 to first USB printer. But it never seems to do so.

If I do:

usbprint status

It says no usb printer currently installed.

If I do a usbprint c it says no descriptor data.

USB support is enabled in the VMware machine.

Any suggestions?

thanks,

Bill.

Have you installed a Host Controller Driver -- either USBUHCI or USBUHCIL? You need one of those installed before USBPRINT can recognize any USB printers.

I personally have never used VMWare, so can't provide any practical experience there.
